September 2nd, 2009 No comments »Node4 Engineers will be performing core equipment upgrades in the Derby Data Centre on the morning of Sunday 13th September June between 4am and 7.30am. During this time there will be disruption to internet transit.
Further Information as follows:
This work will only affect internet transit (internet access), or those services which use internet transit (i.e. SIPLink). During the maintenance window we expect several short periods (estimated as less than 5 minutes) where internet transit to some destinations will be interrupted. This maintenance work is required to upgrade one of the core BGP routers in Derby, during this work Internet traffic will automatically re-route via other routers/paths.

BGP Sessions will be restarted during this maintenance window, therefore customers may experience some minor disruption to Internet Transit while traffic is re-routed. However, due to the nature of this work we would consider the service to be AT RISK during this time period.

System(s) Affected: All Web, Exchange Services, Control Panel, Blackberry, SharePoint
Expected Impact: Working with Dell we have identified a faulty software driver that poses a high risk of causing down time for customers. To prevent this during the maintenance window tonight we will be updating all affected servers. This will result in short down times for each individual server of not more than 30 minutes each. You will see different services down at different times during the maintenance window. No data will be lost and all incoming mail will be queued until the maintenance is complete.
